Coudersport Ice Mine Update

ice minePlans are coming together for a reopening of the Coudersport Ice Mine this year. Owner Gary Buchsen updated Coudersport Area Chamber of Commerce members at this week’s meeting. He has ambitious plans, including regional marketing, a vibrant gift shop featuring local products and a trail network that brings visitors to the attraction. The “mine” is a rare natural phenomenon which produces ice during the warmer months and thaws during the winter. It has been studied by internationally known scientists and featured in numerous magazines and journals.


Kightlinger Motors Opens New General Motors Show Room

KightlingersOne of Potter County’s biggest business success stories of the past quartercentury was spotlighted last weekend as Kightlinger Motors of Coudersportwelcomed customers, friends and community leaders to a grand opening of its new General Motors showroom.


The owners also announced that a second phase of its expansion and renovation project will be a new Ford showroom, which should be ready for occupancy next summer.


Coudersport Area Chamber of Commerce representatives surrounded the owners as they snipped the ceremonial ribbon during the open house. Among those on hand to share in the celebration was the co-owners’ father, Dan Kightlinger Sr., who took a leap of faith by moving with his family to Coudersport from the Meadville area in 1978 to acquire the former Robbins Chevrolet on Mill Street.

Abundant Blessings Ribbon Cutting

abundantCoudersport Area Chamber of Commerce congratulated Abundant Blessings on the completion of their shoppes. on North Main Street in Coudersport.


The boutique/gift shop, café and tea room in the Main Street Shoppes building offers country and primitive home décor, antiques, art works, holiday decorations and gift selections.
